I have been totally bogged down lately...with ideas. I just can't keep my brain from coming up with new designs and ideas for altering. Add a generous side helping of passion for all things beautiful and my sewing machine, and I can't be stopped!
Sarah took me shopping last year after my birthday, and I found a great pair of jeans that I loved. Well, after washing them twice, the length in the legs shrank! ...or I grew, but I'm inclined to think the former. So now I have these jeans that I don't wear because they sit above my ankles, and last I checked the eighties have come and gone. So what to do?
My solution and first try at patchwork:
The results
I am pleased.

As always, you did a great job! You really do know how to put things together and create something nice. Just be ready for this question, "Where did you but those?"
LOVE the jeans!! You rock! If I wore jeans, I would want a pair! But now I am thinking, a nice denim pencil skirt with a fabulous print border ... hmmmm, you have given me a great idea Steph!! Love Mom
I saw the jeans at church on Saturday, and they are awsome! Chris, the idea of a denim skirt is terrific. You could even use the same fabric to replace the pockets and it would be beautiful. Katie's jeans always end up too short before she outgrows them in the waist (must be nice to be pencil thin). Steff, we have to have a day where you can show me how to do that for Katie.
Oooo Steffie I love them! I have been wanting to do something like that (and put patches on the rear and what not) for so long! Love the fabric you chose and I am happy those jeans didn't go to waste. :) I wanna see more of your couture now! :D
