Aunt Kellie graciously took us (the kids and I) to the museum last Thursday, and we had such a good time! Zane is starting to really get into dinosaurs and science, so this was especially fun for him :) It was fun for Grace too, but I think it was more of a "wow, I'm with Zach and Katie in this huge new place that I reallyreallyreally wish I could just run around in and touch everything in reach" kind of fun.
Aside from that, Zane read his very first book all by himself the other day! I wasn't actually home to witness it, but as soon as I got home, he was more than happy to demonstrate. I am loving teaching him at home; you can turn any mundane detail into a science, math, or reading lesson! In fact we went on a science/nature walk today in this beautiful 60 degree sunshine we've been recently blessed with.
Anyway, I have just finished posting pictures from our museum excursion, on facebook. I know that not everyone has a facebook account so I will post a few pics here too, for your viewing pleasure! Have a great weekend :)

Thank you so much for the new post! I am so happy that you got to go, and so heartsick that I missed it! That's what I get for moving 2000 miles away, LOL. The pics are WONDERFUL! I especially love the first one! And KUDDOS to Zane on reading his first book! I think that means Grandma and Grandpa need to send him a reward (I have a great idea!)
So neat that you mentioned nature walks. I was just thinking yesterday about all the mature /discovery walks we took along the Poudre River for science when you kids were little. I have a book I need to send you, speaking of nature walks.
ALSO (sorry this comment is so long) 60 degree weather and sunshine in Colorado? It is warmer in Colorado right now than it is in Florida! I seriously FROZE all day yesterday. The low was low 30s again last night for the umpteenth time this winter! But weather moves from west to east, so if it has been warm for you, it should warm up here too in a few days. I am ready!
That was a very fun day! We had an awsome time. Zane is brilliant, but that is only my unbiased opinion. I can't wait for the day that we get to go to a museum with everyone. Maybe in Florida. Who knows. Wouldn't a big giant family vacation be so much fun?
Big giant family vacation sounds awesome! We could do it in Colorado, though, so it will be easier for everyone, and Barrientezes could possibly join in!
